Employment Opportunities

our story

Rowe’s Construction

Rowe’s Construction began in 1975 in Hay River providing general contracting services, owned and operated by lifetime northerners, Jack Rowe and his brother Mike Rowe.  In 1985 the company grew to include an office in Ft. Simpson lead by Owen Rowe.  The business has continued to evolve and expand over the past 40 years into a diverse group of companies and services.

Rowe’s Construction generates approximately 30 million dollars per year in gross revenue.  About 50% of this revenue is derived from Heavy Equipment operations, utilizing our extensive equipment fleet valued at over $10 million dollars and employing approximately 50 full time employees and up to 150 seasonal employees.

We take pride in the fact that 90% of our staff are northerners and approximately 70% are either of aboriginal descent or individuals that were born in the north.  We recognize both the economic and social benefits associated with hiring local individuals and sub contractors to participate in the projects we work on.  We have demonstrated our commitment to on the job training of aboriginal employment on projects we have worked on including the 2006/07 Colomac Mine Remediation Project and the Blackwater Earthworks Project where we worked collectively with our First Nation Partners.

We have an in-house team of very experienced project managers, site superintendents, equipment operators, carpenters and support personnel.

In order to meet or exceed each of our Clients’ unique needs and requirements, Rowe’s Construction establishes effective affiliations and partnerships with other key technology providers and engineering consultants whenever necessary.  Our methodology is to offer services which prove cost effective and sustainable, taking due care and consideration with regard to the environment and safety of all personnel involved.

Rowe’s Construction continues to bid and work on similar projects as they are awarded and are always pursuing new and exciting project opportunities and personnel to expand our experience and knowledge base.

As the construction industry evolves we continue to progress and enhance operations, such as adjusting and improving our safety standards and procedures.  Rowe’s Construction has attained the Nothern Construction Safety Associations “Certificate of Recognition” (COR) certification.
